I've been reading about the poetic form 'magic 9', which uses an abacadaba rhyme scheme. Here's my first attempt at writing a magic 9 poem. Different parameters this time - 7 syllables per line, as opposed to alternating between 5- and 7-syllable lines.
Here's my second attempt:
in winter: darkness's height
we get a family feast
and since we know it ain't right
when all is meant to be fine
just to scream and fuss and fight
'stead let's make a cosy scene
where the fire's glowing bright
we are together at least
with games: what a lovely night
